The subject of WOMC has come up on the Tampa Board since Scott Walker took over Q105. How is this station perceived in Detroit? I think it sounds really great and seems true to it's roots and music.

It was one of the better oldies stations, but I think in resent years they have not been quite on the top of their game. IMHO the dayparts other than Purtain in the morning could use a little more inspiration. Sometime it sounds like they are going through the motions.

Dick Purtan is holding WOMC back. His numbers have been sliding for years and he doesn't even show P25-54, and even P35-64 his numbers aren't great. His show needs to be more contemporary, ie John Lanigan at WMJI/Cleveland, who's show is always Top 5 P25-54.

The rest of the talent sounds solid. Especially Ted Richards.

The imaging/writing could be more fun.

You're right, Ted does hold down the fort and does an excellent job. I zoned out on that thinking he was still at Jones.

I wonder if Ted would ever consider doing mornings if Dick would decided to pack up the microphone? I always thought Ted gave a certain energy that was not duplicated. He was great on CKLW and WHND.
