Women of Wrestling

Since WOW debuted two weeks ago their TV show is fun to watch and one hour on the weekends is also a win because before 2005 Pro Wrestling on syndication TV on the weekends guaranteed high ratings for the TV stations.

If WOW manages to get good ratings does anyone think that WWE will at least brings back a one hour syndicated show (i.e. Superstars or even a magazine type show This Week in WWE)?

I tried to get into this show/promotion. It's just too silly for me. The wrestlers have very cartoony generic women's gimmicks like cheerleader and gangster. I didn't find the show compelling. Don't even know who these women are outside of kayfabe. I looked them up in one of those wrestling encyclopedias websites and there is no information on them at all. Most of them are not even listed. Their ring is really tiny. Most of the dirt sheet sites I visited barely mentioned the show if at all and most of it was negative.

I don't think WWE will add a syndicated show. They distribute their stuff through Peacock and youtube in the US.

yeah, this is always a hallmark of a David McLane women's promotion, the guy relaunched WOW several times and before that had GLOW that he ran in the 1980s, so pretty much, he was infamous for doing goofy corny gimmicks with women's wrestlers.

If tv keeps going downhill then my guess would be that they would add programming from streaming networks to air in syndication if they have enough episodes. Just like airing cable shows on regular TV in syndication for example Sex in the City from HBO, Schitts Creek from Pop TV (formally known as TV Guide Channel), Dead Like Me from Showtime, Tales from the Crypt from HBO which aired reruns on Fox and then syndication.

WOW airs on CW7 at 2PM & 10:30PM Sat which WOW got the old ROH timeslot 10:30PM. I saw a promo last night saying watch WOW 10:30PM on CW7.

In San Antonio it airs at 9 PM Saturday nights on The CW 35 in the same time slot where Ring of Honor used to air. Speaking of syndicated wrestling shows Ring of Honor was syndicated in many local markets for many years so this isn’t anything new or recent.
