womens talk gone?

They've pulled the plug on womens talk on WIIN 780 and are now simulcasting US96.3 after transmitting mainly white noise and static for the last couple of weeks, either this is a technical issue or this is the annual format change that they do at 780 nearly every year.

If they were running the Greenstone network (the one put together by Gloria Steinheim, Jane Fonda and Rosie O'Donnell), it's gone belly up. They only had 8 affiliates.

I've been listening to 780 for years and they change the format about every couple of years lets see
WYAI-simulcast of rock 102 and later EZ 102. Winners News motivational tapes (sounded like Amway was running the station) Black talk (flop), various simulcasting of 98.7 or 101.7, (and even Miss 103 when the lights went out at 101.7) Adult standards, Blues (my favorite format ever, exept for the technical problems) Southern Gospel, Mexican, Womens talk, and I'm sure I'm leaving something off. They have also spent many hours broadcasting unitelligble audio or white noise or sending out a dead air carrier for days at a time.
Not to mention leaving the transmitter on all night walking over WBBM Chicago.

maybe they should put on Radio Disney. over 17 million watched High School Musical last week making it the biggest hit ever on cable. It also beat out the broadcast networks. I just checked I-tunes and High School Musical and teenyboppers, " the Jonas Brothers" have the top downloads. And of course there is Hanna Montana.

Of course Radio Disney won't ever happen in Jackson.

Geesh... where's a rimshot sfx when you need it! :p

I just found out about this moments ago when flipping around the AM dial. If the network went belly-up, then you can't blame this one on the powers that be at 780. I'd like for them to put Air America on. Or we could always use another sports station. :)
