WOMN Franklinton

Is this station still on the air? Several years ago a station on 1100 AM in Newton, MS went silent so that WOMN could go 50,000 watts. But I never heard much more out of it.

Since they are owned by Pittman I doubt they will be upgrading. In Lafayette he couldnt pay the land lease on the tower of KYMK FM, they are operating low power from an unauthorized site on the Chase building downtown. Their AM stations in Lafayette are only on air 50 percent of the time and even when they are on, there are lots of stretches of dead air.

I live in Lafayette and always hear KVOL 1330 AM with the carrier and no audio. I may get some audio once a week and I check twice daily to see whats happening. Anybody know if thats the same transmitter they've had since upgrading to 5KW in 1966?

As far as I know it's still on the air relaying WUUU 98.9 a country station and is still a daytime radio station as I know they have construction permits for WOMN and WUUU and not sure either one has been consumated

I had to do some work in Franklinton yesterday and it was still on the air simulcasting Pittman's other station 98.9. I think it's Cat Country?

I did a search on Cat Country 98.9, found the website (www.catcountry989.com) and listened for a while today. I was really surprised at the playlist and sound of the station. Are they using Reelworld for their imaging?
