WOMX AND WJHM LIVE STREAMS ARE ONLINE

You now have the ability to listen to 102 Jamz and Mix 105.1 online, but they aren't advertising the availability of your option to do so. The links below will stream the stations using the "Stream The World" flash player currently used by CBS stations that are streaming in other markets. The portal links will have broken images when you access them, because the advertisements haven't been setup.

The O-rock callsign will also load a stream, but it's always silent.

is this even legal? that site doesn't even look legit to me and the sound is horrible...boy talk about jumping the gun. If I were CBS I would be upset about the quality of these streaming sites.

I've explained this in personal messages to people that have asked, but I'll summarize here. And to start, the links aren't public, unless you count for me mentioning them here in my original post.

The national streaming arrangement that CBS has includes provisions for the three Orlando stations, however... and I'm guessing here... the Orlando affiliates probably haven't secured local agreements with advertisers or otherwise "sponsorship" for the streams, which may be a national requirement for stations to publically announce and take advantage of the streams on their individual stations. Without this in place, for the moment you're left with what I "found" by changing around URLs of the stream site one day out of curiosity, which are template links to valid streams and nothing else. (And they're not "illegal" or illegitimate--they use the same interface any other CBS template sites use for streams.) The broken links are missing elements from the template, which would normally be local station art and/or streaming sponsor banners and hyperlinks. Otherwise, these are just like any known streaming link to a CBS station, including the StreamTheWorld Flash streaming interface required to listen to CBS streams. CBS would know about the quality, which is actually better quality than most 32k windows media streams CC streams use. These are 64k stereo. Not sure if the stereo is dual-channel 64k, but it's not mono. Heck, even the local station advertisements air... (no blocks of silence or ad inserts!) ... so it's about as real quality as you can get.

Hope this helps. I felt like if I ever wrote this much here, someone at CBS would locally have a stink about it and have the links removed. :p

the bit rate is fine they just don't have any type of audio processor on there...volume levels are all over the place. DJ, Music and Commercials are coming in at different levels that indicates that there is no audio processor. Very strange, that was the original meaning behind my post.

Ah, now I see what you mean. After listening through spot breaks and crossfades between some songs, I agree. Again, it makes me think the stations just aren't ready, and the engineers probably aren't even taking the feeds into the streams into account at the moment.

By the way, it appears WOCL is now providing a feed as of last listen, so all three CBS stations can be heard online.

Rough or not, I'll take what I can get! This is fantastic. Thanks.

Even with the sound all over the place, it sure beats the heck out of the jumpy feeds I get from WTKS. I swear I can only get a good link a quarter of the time.

Just a side note...What's the deal with Dana Taylor?...I swear to God she says MIX 25.1 instead of 1-0-5. 1...Anybody else here that?...It drives me crazy that a jock in a market size as large as Orlando can't clearly say the station's dial position....and the night jock, if she sounded any more disinterested she'd be in a coma.

Here is the deal with the streaming they are currently trying the get all their licenses together so they can sell the streams. ASCAP etc...also they are installing Audio Vault, which they say it will be ready for early next year. So they will launch early next year.
Dana Taylor is probably the most consistant DJ in the market, I think that is part of the problem. She needs to step it up a little, and become a bit more exciting. There is nothing wrong with her on the air except that she is probably more suited for a shift on DBO or Magic the night day-part where the DJ's are third on the list of entertainment factors as oppose as mid-days on Mix. Ofcourse, this is just my opinion...

CBS is launching their audio streams tonight 12-13-07 officially...

THANK YOU! It sounds like Winnie 5 point one as well. Drives me nuts and I wonder how she can keep her job when she can't say what the dial position is.

There will be a major change to their players on their sites for the coming year...stayed tuned.
