I just recently found the station. Can anybody tell me about them, their history, programming, etc.?

They used to be on 96.7, but moved to their current home at 95.1. I think that had something to do with WTCD 96.9 in Indianola coming on the air. They've been country every since I've known of them. One interesting piece of history about WONA: despite being a country station, they used to play American Top 40 on Sunday nights back in the 80s and early 90s.

I've been listening to their morning show lately. They have an interesting local newscast. And i like their format.

Hey Bubba, as I recall, they use the same Jones Satellite Country format as WBLE 100.5 in Batesville. Upgraded from 3 or 6KW to 25 or 50KW when they moved from 96.7 to 95.1. Family owned and operated independent station. When I talked to them a time or two, very nice folks.

I think you're right. I caught the morning show first. It was live. Later, I checked the evening broadcast and compared it to Batesville. It was the same. Strange they would have duplicate programming as close as they are to each other. But, I do like the WONA morning show. They play some of my kind of music. You, of course, know what I mean.

By the way, Betty said thanks for dinner. That was above and beyond. Thanks.
