Wonder if Entercom will do anything to 102.7 & 550?

Any comments? wonder if Jack & KTSA is safe?

The latest so far is that Clear Channel has already toured the studios of KTSA and KJXK. Whether an agreement has been made with CBS Radio is unknown.

While Clear Channel can never be ruled out as a buyer for any station, especially ones as big as the CBS spinoffs, I have to ask a few Mr. Obvious questions.

(1) How did anyone know it was Clear Channel that was touring the studios? I've been through a few station sales, and it's never been the big wigs who have toured the stations prior to a deal being announced. I can't imagine anyone with the last name of Mays, Hogan or even Glade touring the stations.

(2) Why would Clear Channel tour facilities they would not be using if they got these stations? If Clear Channel acquired these stations, there's no question they'd move them into their existing broadcast plaza immediately.

My experience with sales is, when another company tours, the deal is done. However, who was touring the stations is usually known only in retrospect. Since the big wigs are usually not involved in such tours, other potential suitors could tour the stations, and no one would notice. Important, but not top level, people usually tour the stations. You're told "meet your new employers," and you recognize that you saw them a day or two ago.

Hiss! To the excruciating wait that media employees endure when they know their station is up for sale but no buyer has been confirmed.

I'm talking in this instance about KTSA, where more than one on-air personality has been on pins and needles since it was first announced months ago that owner CBS was entertaining buyers for both the talk outlet and sister station, Jack-FM.

Worst fear for some is that Clear Channel Communications, the powerful owner of WOAI, would purchase the two stations and competitive talk would become scarce in this market.

Also, there's no reason why Mays or any of the higher ups would tour the studios. Engineer?
