It's pretty obvious that this board is all but about to flip to Ballads of the 30' and 40's, so I figure why not just cave into the hottest
topic on the board in September --- Stepphenwich and the drive thru fast food chain and ask for something that has not been on
the menu board for some time:

Stepphenwich: (nearly asleep from lack of business) "May I take your order?"
Tibbs: "The usual...a pile of, well, illogical sheep dip."
Stepphenwich: "Sorry, were out of everything, I forgot to order the food. May I get you anything else?"
Tibbs: "No, I just wish Oldiescat would return so we could play on the playground"
Stepphenwich: Ha, ha, I drove him, and most everybody else away. He'll never come back and play.."

Oldiescat --- ???? Where are you?????? Help! It's a new month ...give us something FUN to talk about on this board!!!

(and, by the way, I note with pride the Detroit Tigers are back in the baseball playoffs since 1987! Even though a case could be made that we hit a bit of a skid at the end of the year, the Motor City is alive with baseball fever once again and it feels so good).

Welcome back, OldiesCat. I've seen references to another radio board on some of these radio-info boards but I've never heard of another one. Are you allowed to tell me what it is? Thanks.

By the way, I'm not into MLB so I'll just say, "Go Colts!".

Arrrr, my Yankees have failed me once again in the post season!

The Tigers are doing awesome though. I hope they make it all the way this year.

It's like you were reading my mind. Wow, incredible how they won but even more impressive the way they celebrated. You should have seen the players after the game, running the perimeter of the field, spraying champagne on everybody (I confess, I wasn't quite sitting close enough to get wet). Kenny Rogers was standing on top of the visitor's dugout, spraying fans, high-fiving. He even poured a bottle of champers over the head of a Michigan State trooper (who tried not to smile much but was indeed enjoying it).

So, yes, it was a wonderful celebration. Now, on to those pesky A's.

(and is this really the swan song for Joe Torre? That seems terribly unfair. And, rumour has it they're going back to Lou Piniella? Why not look forward vs. back?)

agree. not torre's fault, not really arod's fault. its the chemistry of all the parts not to mention lousy pitching
