Wonder what this is about???

I stumbled across this on craigslist, anyone got the low down???

On-Air Experience (Triad)
Do you have on-air radio experience? We'd love to hear from you. A resume will suffice for now. Something new is coming to the Piedmont! We promise...THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!!

Speaking of old timers doing internet radio, I saw an ad for Jack Murphy's internet radio show/station in "Yes" which is one of the many freebie weekly papers available in the Triad. I had forgotten all about him and his attempt to stay relevant. I'm sure it is a trade. Wonder how many spots Murphy has to run on his highly rated internet show/station to equal the value of the Yes ad? Who are some of the other "old timers" with internet radio stations?

I think it is a little something more than that. If it were strictly online it would state online. What stage of death are the various Curtis stations right now??? Then again it seems old Uncle Don's idea of fun is putting his broccoli in the blender on puree.

cc....stage 'o death:
1. radio is wallowing in it.
2. internet or airwaves...no diff.
3. analog is DOA regarding mass media.
....only Live Sports keeps most alive.

The word Cragislist informed on all I needed to know. 90% of the job postings on Craiglist are scams, viruses, or 100% commission sales jobs.

If this post is not one of those, then it is some idiot with a pipedream of creating some internet radio station or something along those lines.

By the way to turkeydance, radio is not dead and it's not dying, it's enduring a change as is all media. People have to think creatively and be passionate about what they do. Radio stations are popping up all across the country still raking in millions of dollars with fresh programming and personalities.

For whatever reason, Winston-Salem/Greensboro has turned into a graveyard of radio broadcasting. Aside from the hip hop stations, which dominate the ratings/revenue, there is jukeboxes and nothing else.

If radio is dead it has itself to blame..I don't think it is personally..Its got to get back to basics and what made it great. It can be done but we have to have some leaders not followers to shake things up,dare to be different and realize that radio should be so much more than syndicated shows in drive times, unmaned facilities, and an attitude of there nothing we can do.Radio still has a large place in our lives..Yes it is a business i get that but we also have an obligation to serve the public not to just look at the bottom line. There is some good radio being done but there are also stations who are not doing well but they are not getting the proper attention...Having a radio station is an honor and a privlidge and should never be taken for granted.. Guys radio is still a great industry and alot of fun and to me it is still very rewarding when someone comes up to me and says I love your station or I love your show..I still get a cool feeling when that happens and the day I don't get that feeling I'll get out.

Murphy's ad appears to be a "trade" as he interviews someone from YES Weekly on his show in preparation for their publication.

As for Yes Weekly ads, I would not have a clue as I don't have the time to listen to Murphy.
