Per the Taylor On Radio-Info Newsletter : Followup to Friday's report of a staff meeting at Cox Media Group in Louisville. Nothing much there, as it turns out. Some recent adjustments have been made to AC "Lite 106.9" WVEZ, and the sales staff was sprung on Friday and got to cruise home early, for the Labor Day weekend.

So whoever tipped Taylor off made a big deal out of nothing.

Kinda funny how bon jovi and hinder and nickelback are considered light rock today whereas when this format started we heard barry manilow and barbara striesand and ambrosia and sergio mendes and seals n crofts

If I had a dollar for everytime I've thought that! Having worked at a Light Rock station 30 years ago that played the staples mentioned above, I clearly remember them shying away from anything with an edge on it. Nowadays if it isn't rap or hard rock, it's fair game. We must be 'outgrowing the demo' as they say.

I remember hearing about i did not hear the flip but i remember hearing how all the old people got really angry and called up wvez when there beloved muzac station got blown up into light rock in spring of 1986.Even today i can only take so much light rock granted it is better then what it was then when the format started but still i love me alternative rock.

Times change people change so yesterdays neil diamond is todays rob thomas but ya still here chicagos will you still love me on light rock. A staple since it came out in 1986.

"A determined fringe element that can't be counted upon to do the sensible thing."
