Do you guys have this IBOC crap in Canada??

If you dont you are VERY LUCKY!! (Especially on the AM band)

I always thought the CRTC wasnt as me$$ed up as the FCC is!!
 
We don't have it officially yet, but the CRTC is toying with the idea of testing it out to see how it works. The problem is with our second and third channel adjacent frequencies, which Canada is notorious for, could make it an absolute mess. As far as AM goes, in a city like Ottawa (which only has 4 am frequencies in use, 580 1150 1200 and 1310) it wouldn't be so much of a problem, but I don't see the CRTC even thinking about using it on AM here, since the band is pretty much being eliminated, except in the largest cities, where FM is so full of stations they can only accept new stations on AM

...And then there was DAB (digital audio broadcasting)...it failed a miserable quick death here in Canada. There just weren't enough people interested in buying the recievers for it.
Too bad too, because it gave both AM and FM CD quality sound.

The radio jingles were great too..."do do do do DAB!...Have you heard!...Ray deee oh's future is DAB!"
