WONE running IBUZ now?

WMVP AM 1000 in Chicago is now running iboc. 980 is now toast. Enjoy.

Yes they are broadcasting in IBOC. I can get my Sony HD radio to lock on to the signal here in Sharonville pretty reliably.

IBOC only accelerates the slow death of traditional radio - especially AM (dx-ing as a hobby is now all but ruined) thanks to a technolgy that never quite got off the ground. Lack of promotion, lack of public acceptance (related to first point), lack of reliable receivers, etc.

I listen to WONE for the Cleveland Browns' games. Just before sundown, they really drop out here - I think they decrease power and go directional to the north. That's particularly noticed in the football season when standard time comes back. It's hard to reach WONE - such as by e-mail - with various listener concerns.
