WOOF seeking on-air talent

Why don't you listen to the market over the next few weeks and learn the answer to your question at the same time as the audience? Why do the people that love to rip all over the Dothan market on this website feel like they are entitled to information early? Chill out, speculate as you feel like you must, but it's not as if your knowledge of any upcoming changes in advance is going to make a difference in the market. :)
 
Dude, (or Dudette, whatever the case may be), this is an industry message board. Message boards exist for speculation, even to the extent of rampant gossip, and occasionally, for enlightening discourse. If we wanted to wait to get our information about our industry along with the listening public, we would not be here. By the way, I notice that this is your first post, at least under the current user name. Why are you here?

Totally off topic, but I noticed the little "Uatu" on your post. I just picked up 25 old "What If" issues last week from eBay! Yay for Comics! Almost to a full set!

Anyway, fanboy segue off.

It will be interesting to find out in the next week or so to see who they acquired. I wish them the best!

Interesting thing that popped up last week. I got to thinking of why so many people tend to change stations and stay in this area. I just put my house up for sale about a month ago and, while I know it might take a while for it to sell, it makes it tough to look for employment out of this area or out of state. I'm not going anywhere, just looking for a better neighborhood for me and the Wifey. But the specter of not having a sale and paying on 2 houses, if you get a new job, is pretty daunting. So, why not try to find employment with another station? And we all know that when you are out of the business, the yearning and longing to get back in is pretty brutal, realizing just how exclusive the club is. We have quite possibly the easiest jobs in the world, and the best perks. I love what I do, and am proud to be surrounded with the best talent around.

Got a little sideways on my point, but is it a valid one? o_O

Here we go boys and Girls in Peanutland:

1) Props to Bluewater for making an effort to make changes to the Tragic Cluster! Maybe, just maybe, they can bring some MAGIC back into that Cluster.

2) I disagree with stealing talent from your competition! I don't care If they WORKED FOR YOUR STATION before or not. To me it just makes you look bad-you are basically saying no one wants to come work for us and we can't beat our competition let's steal their talent. Just my personal opinion-but thats a whole new discussion.

3) SHOCKED! Am I! In such a fickle industry why would anyone go from a powerhouse like WOOF to a cluster like Tragic? Surely,this person reads the boards. In our market WOOF is currently the gold medal-the place to work with The Radio People safely in second and everyone distantly in 3rd, 4th, 5th....

4) The puzzle pieces fall easily in place as who will soon exit WOOF to swim in the Waters o'Blue. The WOOF team is solid,there are few LITTLE things that can improve the team. After examining the the staff their longevity at WOOF, their career paths, and their talents- I can easily guess who could be wined and dines into GOING BACK to that cluster.

By the way for the gambling folks I just the latest odds from my bookie:

I couldn't agree more watcher the lies and promises KVD will make and tell just to succeed. Let's take a moment to look at who was let go over the last 3 years from the 8th floor.

1. BJ Kelley
2. John Houston
3.Dave Gilligan
4. J.J.
5.Shady
6. Kelly
7. John AKA Squirrell
8. Trent
9. Jessica ? The girl with Stephano in the Mornings that was let go.
10.David Sommers who was lured away from WOOF for the Bill Of Goods but I think he finally saw the light and moved on.

Most of these were let go becuase of budget cuts by people that supposivley know how to do radio . Wow no wonder why the Trajic cluster is the worst in the market as far as numbers and revenue .....Just my two shiny pennies
