Woohoo! Huge solar storm coming our way.

Last night & tonight, I've logged several new regional stations on my winter evening drive homes.

Connection? I don't know. May be that some of the other stations have been muted, and therefore the threshold is lower.

This evening, 1070/WFNI was booming in prior to switching to the 10 KW nightime power & signal redirect.

Doesn't WFNI always come in during the day in Cincinnati?

Maybe this explains why last night on the turnpike north of Orlando 610 WIOD was booming in like a local for about 20 minutes. Tonght in the same area WJR was booming in tonight aqt 7:15EST

WFNI should be audible in Cincinnati day and night. The 10kW night signal goes southeast and is regular in Tennesee and even Myrtle Beach. Lafayette, Indiana, 60 miles to the northwest *and even closer in locations in that direction...forget it

It does, but the skywave was unusually strong for WFNI.

It's a little over 100 miles from the transmitter site to my location, and the signal has to go through northern Indy to get here. WFNI is the regular night visitor at my location.

Off the topic, I've always wondered why the WFNI/WIBC daytime signal isn't stronger in Cincinnati, considering they send their main lobe our way.
