WOR 9 SIGN OFF 1975

A remarkable find - and taking me back at that. I'd've rated Bob Jordan as among my favorite announcers of the period, amongst the NYC indie stations - along with Bill Biery of WPIX and Tom Gregory of WNEW-TV. Too bad Jordan died, around 1977.

This makes it the second WOR-TV sign-off to have found its way onto the web - after a 1964 sign-off (more specifically, the early morning hours of Aug. 31) by another staff announcer of old, Fred Maness (who'd once alternated with Ed Herlihy in narrating Universal Newsreels), as among a batch of other sign-offs of that period on:
