WOR Engineer Tom Ray Is Leaving Station

After 15 years, Tom is leaving to start his own consultancy. Under his watch, WOR was the first high-powered AM station to broadcast in HD.

Story link here.

Related: recently I've seen employment ads on the trade sites for a Clear Channel New York engineer - it's possible that the position is for WOR.

Try this one, too:

The page I was looking for has been removed. It discussed the adjacent issues with WLW while they were testing the HD.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

Tom did a brilliant job with WOR, especially that tricky move in the Meadowlands!

Best of luck to him!

I see Tom is now writing for Radio-info.com.

He did a great job giving WDRC a great sound here in Connecticut... (Although he never managed to get the phone line audio dropout problem fixed with the phone company) :)

Tom is a nice person,I wish him THE BEST !

I met him at NAB as well as got a tour of the WOR transmitter site ,by him ,when I was in the area.

He ,not too long ago, had a piece in RadioWorld about hurricane Sandy and the WOR transmitter site during and after the storm.

Again ,best to you Tom.

Al
