WOR (morning)

Then why the local NYC morning show? That's what this thread is about.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this company has never really "developed" a new national talk show. They picked up a few already-successful shows. But the rest of their talk programming, if you look at their stations around the country, is mostly local.

Personal opinion; this is for possible syndication. Even if this company hasn't developed a national talk show, that is what will be necessary to keep this dinosaur format and facilities viable for a few more years.

I worked for a guy once who always said radio is a business where mediocrity rises to the top. Never has that been more true than it is today. Actually, in many cases these days, mediocrity would be an improvement.

I really don't get the whole Schnitt thing. I've heard him many times over the years and was never impressed. He's pretty weak IMHO.

That may be your opinion, but the fact is that stations that focus on local talk are doing better than stations that focus on syndication.

Schnitt is another Rush clone. I have no idea why Berman is there. I guess he can't find TV work.
I doubt I-Heart media plans to syndicate this lousy show.

Berman is a New York legend and harmless.

Todd S#!t has always stunk up the joint and would have been a selected by Randall Bloomquist if he still worked for Clear Channel, iHeart or whatever you want to call the company.
