WOR streaming live

Today I went to WOR to stream the travel show and could not find the "listen live" icon. Does anyone know what has happened with their streaming live. Thanks.

No idea. They're promoting iHeart Radio pretty heavily on the air ... maybe this is a strategy to drive listeners there instead of to the website? Makes no sense because clicking on the "Listen" button on the website took listeners to iHeart anyway -- it's a "web" after all. :) But not every strategy in the radio industry makes sense!

Do you know if WOR will no longer have Listen live on their web site?

Home Page, in the center, right below the big pictures, and right above where you can "send a shout-out, or ask a question" There is a WOR icon, with "on Air" right next to it.

Click on the icon, it takes you to the WOR iHeart radio page.

I see Listen live is back on where one can see it. I am so glad because I enjoy many of their shows. Thanks for all the help.

Have they started proclaiming themselves as "an iHeartRadio station" in their legal ID's yet?

That link causes some weirdness -- at least here -- that makes the CPU fan kick up and causes the browser to become unresponsive. I'd suggest not clicking on it.

Is that an MP3 stream you're posting, RadioFanBoy? I'm going to send the bat-signal for PJC1961 - he should be able to provide the correct links...

I guess this is a timely thread. Sometime yesterday a change was made to iHeart Radio requiring "Google Chrome Frame," whatever that is. Users of Internet Explorer are required to download a plugin, other browsers apparently are OK.

I use an application called Replay AV where I can schedule shows to play at various times, in effect creating a "virtual" radio station. It opens the streams in its own player, which I believe uses parts of Windows Media Player, so of course it's stopped working. Replay AV is no longer being sold so it won't be upgraded. I've added the plugin to IE but that doesn't help. Replay Player just pops up with the message about changing browsers or adding the plugin.

Anyone know of alternate URLs into the iHeart streams?

Just go to your smartphone's App Store and download the iheartradio FREE app. There's no need to fuss with websites and antiquated computer/ laptop media players anymore. The design on iheart for your mobile device is slick, clean and gives you WOR NYC plus hundreds of live radio options at the push of a button. It's where radio is going. Infact if WOR is being streamed on any back door or third party site, or apps like Tune In or the others, look for it to be pulled as soon as CC brass finds out about it. They are funneling all of their product through iheartradio now.

You're assuming that everyone is willing to shell out $60-100 a month for the privilege of being tethered to a smartphone. And you're probably correct -- a lot of people would rather starve than have the device pried out of their hands!

That aside, the killer app would be a scheduler -- not just presets, IMO. But I've solved the iHeart streaming issue here and, I figure, I've saved about $10,000 over the past decade by not having a smartphone! Somehow I've survived. ;) Life is good. ;D
