I haven't been able to watch WOR in years, but there was this weather guy they used to have whose "thing" was to say "Helllllooooooo" to cities in the area. "Hellllllooooooo Secaucus".

What was his name -- and what's he doing now??

Lloyd Lindsay Young just became chief forecaster at KERO-TV (ABC) in Bakersfield, CA. He continues, at least for the moment, his afternoon forecast duties for KGO via ISDN line from Bakersfield (prior, he had been feeding his forecasts from KMAX-TV in Sacramento, where was a forecaster for many years.

His son, George, was once a weathercaster in New York at WWOR, and then in Bakersfield at KGET-TV. George is now in real estate in San Diego and reports part-time for XETV-Fox 6 there.

Re: WOR Weather Guy - Found Him

When cable came to my hometown near Boston in 1983, WOR/WWOR-9 was on the cable system (back then, it had a lot of New York sports).

That Fall, the station began an 8 P.M. local newscast (although often moved in the event of a live sports event). And that's when I first saw Lloyd Lindsay-Young.

I used to do an imitation of him, and at a Christmas party I went to that year, I decided to try the imitation. I was wearing a suit jacket, unbottoned it, but kept it on like Lloyd, and went into my imitation. A couple of people actually liked it.

As a regular WWOR watcher at the time (owing to the Mets), he annoyed me more than almost anyone on TV. (It appears that others may agree... since his career moves on TV are DMA #1 -> #19 -> #128.)
