Worcester talk show host hired by fox 25

Jim Polito, morning talk show host at WTAG-AM 580 announced this morning that he is leaving the station this Friday to take a job with Fox 25 in Boston. He starts next Monday as a political commentator for Fox 25. No replacement has been announced yet for his AM drive shift.

Given Clear Channel's major layoffs announced yesterday (December 6th), I wouldn't be surprised if Jim Polito's replacement is a syndicated show (either Don Imus or Doug Stephens' "Good Day U.S.A.").

With the morning slot at WTAG-580 open, CC could decide not to fill it, and cut one more person from the company's staff.

Another possibility is that Jordan Levy goes to mornings and afternoon drive goes to Hannity.

^5 on that one.

If it's going to become a one-live-daypart radio station, you can probably put the ranch on it

According to Sean Davies, the market manger, that is not their intent. In fact, they have suggested that to Jordan Levy and he said he would not go to mornings. But higher up Clear Channel honchos may take this out of their hands and decide otherwise. Then if Jordan doesn't switch to morning drive he will be out of a job.

Laughable. Being "out of a job" is what most people are at 70 something. I'm sure Jordan doesn't give a shit. He's doing CC a favor by not having retired yet.

Levy, as the former CEO of Parker Companies (and a co-owner when the business was sold), has plenty of money. He isn't in radio for the paycheck.
