Worcester's 1310 AM "Bleeding" into 1440 AM

This might be more a question for the "tech" guys on this board. I listen quite often
to WVEI-AM in Worcester. Driving in the Holy Cross College area of Worcester, the music
from WORC-AM can be heard quite plainly on 1440. I'm aware of the 3 tower array on
the hill above Holy Cross, so I would expect some crossover, (or whatever the technical
term is), but it seems to be quite pronounced and more widespread than it should. Is this
normal, or is it possible that the signal strength on 1310 has somehow been increased? This
seems to be a fairly recent problem that I don't remember hearing earlier this year. It must
be tough to live in that hill neighborhood and trying to listen to another AM frequency. Any
thoughts on this?

I live near WWDJ 1150. Before they installed an NRSC filter many years ago (before the calls became WWDJ, WTTT, or WAMG--and maybe some others), the station sometimes could be heard all the way from 1030 to around 1330 on just about any AM radio. It's possible that the filter has either ceased to function or has been removed from the audio chain.
