Handy

"Canid" refers to members of the dog family, and since the previous clue referred to a Red Foxx catch phrase from "Sanford and Son," I figured out the connection to foxes. Parkinson's to efficiency stumps me, too, however. Hopefully, Kemosabe will explain.
 
"Efficiency," in the foregoing association, relates to Parkinson's Law: "It is a commonplace observation that work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion."
