Word on the Street???

Sure this is complete speculation...but I'm wondering what the average Joe in New York now thinks about CBS since the 80's have been added in. It is a different sound since they last listened...and for days we've heard the liners from celebrities glad their favorite station is back. But are folks really happy? Are they liking the 80's music...or just willing to listen 'til a favorite from the 60's or 70's comes back on?

There was 80's on CBS before it switched... Cindy Lauper's Time After Time was just one of a few 80's that had worked its way on before CBS FM switched. Natural progression of time what wasn't an oldie before now is!

I'm surprised that people do not remember that before CBS ver 1.1 switched to JACK that they had already eliminated all but a very occasional 50's song, pretty much put 60's on the back burner and had a heavy rotation of seventies and eighties. Ver1.2 has picked up where 1.1 left off but with a finer tuning including more songs that are 20-25 years old and less songs that are 30-35+ years old. And as the weeks go by more and more of the wider variety (older songs) will disappear as the station settles in.

I'm sure there'll be focus groups and overnights aplenty before long. You and I will never know the result, though... unless CBSNYER clues us in.
