Words that Richard Skinner should never say on the Radio

This proves Wildman Walker wrong; he repeatedly says "no one listens to that lame a** station The Fan." Obviously someone is listening.

Wildman should be glad they didn't hire him since the station is basically Radio One's miscarriage. It is still in last place! More people listen to crickets chirping than that joke of a station.

Radio One needs to leave Cincinnati. They brutally killed Mojo when it went from oldies to r&b then back to oldies. And this new sports on FM experiment is a disaster. The only station they're winning with is WIZF and that's because rap fans have no idea what good music sounds like.

Radio One = Radio DOne

Oh yes, Things must be so much better over at Classic X. Doing radio out of the owner's mother's basement (I mean command center) has got to be a joy for anyone. Plus they are just killing it in the ratings aren't they?

Also it's been 5 months for the Fan. Obviously things are still a work in progress. You don't go from new to ratings over night. Give them time.

At least Class X has MUSIC!!!!!! Talk on FM will NEVER work in this town. Remember Supertalk 96.5? FAIL! So what if Class X is run out of the owner's mother's basement? It's owned by a real local listener/resident. The Fan might not be broadcasting from a basement, but most of the "command center" isn't even in Cincinnati! It's at CBS!!!!! Hello? CBS Sports Radio? Key word being CBS! And the transmitter is owned by Radio One, whose main focus is the Urban/ African-American community. If they are going to experiment with talk (not saying it would be successful), they're better off competing with 1230 WDBZ (a station that also caters to the African American community) than they are 700, 1360, or 1530.

I don't remember Great Country 94.1 having a 0.1 share in the ratings after 5 months! So don't feed me that BS about oh, give it time!

The Fan has 7 hours of Local programming between 6a and 7p. Compared to 0 by 1360 and the 3 or 4 that 1530 has? Not really sure on 1530 don't care for them. I know I'd rather tune in to the mornings and hear Gamble talk Reds, than Greeny talk Tebow/Jets or Furman talk Knicks/anything NBA.

The Fan gives Cincinnati more Cincinnati talk at the right times of the day. Feinstein sucks and they have to fix that, but I like Jim Rome. The local programming is solid. Few tweeks here or there and they really could have something.

Btw, anyone ever think that they don't have much ratings because no one knows they exist? Have you ever seen them market anywhere? Other than a few remotes and social media?

Maybe they know something we don't. Maybe, just maybe, they want to perfect their product before advertising it. I remember when Real Talk 1160 launched their big billboard campaign when they were still in beta phase. It was awful. They had technical difficulties galore and people tuned them out as a joke from the get go and they never recovered.

Also local for their Baseball Tonight show Saturdays AND two hours local Sunday mornings, for the MotorSport Nation and Baseball Today shows.

It's sad that there is an HD Station in the market which is relayed on 100.7 that has higher ratings that is nothing but a server in a closest. No one is listening to 100.3 regardless of them airing local programming. As far as I know CC does very little promotion with 100.7 The Project.

Microbob is right. The Project literally came out of nowhere on two new low power signals that somehow cover the market. Social media and word of mouth have powered that low power combo past a few full market/full power FMs.
You don't wait five months to make sure things are OK before you start marketing. That is absurd. Just because they are local does not mean they're better. It is just not a good radio station. If they did some outdoor and TV, they might get to a 1.0 share, but I doubt it. Habits are hard to change. Just look at the Country "battle" going on. It's weak.

I was just listening to The Fan at 6:30am, and they were doing a traffic report from yesterday afternoon! Let Bruce Davis handle the Clear Channel stations and go find someone who can do a LIVE traffic update.

LOL!!!!! :) There's proof they won't survive! They can't even do a friggin traffic report right.

That's just sad.

I'm still a bit surprised that The Fan made the decision to split the 2 Angry Guys into two separate shows. I was a big fan of the 2AG's from back in the early 2000s on 1360 (and then over on 1530), but for some reason, it's one of those things where I think they each are average at best solo on the air, but if you put the two of them together, they gel quite nicely.

With ratings so low they can barely even register, I'm still left to wonder why they won't consider linking up these two guys either in the morning. I just don't think there's enough local sports talk radio listeners to support two afternoon drive shows (1530 + The Fan). And I think Wildman still has an afternoon show somewhere on the radio as well? (I've never been able to find that on the dial).

While they seem like they're trying to do well, Wilt Chambers and Chad Brendel sound like they belong on a college radio station that nobody listens to. Might as well throw those two guys together and bit the bullet on that time slot and link up your two strongest pieces to create a strong AM local sports talk radio show that has no other local competition.
