After having been on both sides of station sales, some of which have included format changes, I'll take the format change alone any day.

Nothing is worse than a staff with no idea what's coming. I've even been on the buyers end of a deal where the existing staff didn't know the close occured until our GM showed up to claim his office. In that case, we kept most everyone except a few. But it was sure stressful those few days during the transition when no one wanted to be really cooperative until they knew their job was intact.
