Working for the Weekend

I just remember, back in the days when I would turn from one station to another, it was the song played at 5:00 on Friday on one AC. It must have been a classic-leaning AC because I remember the long version of "Layla", not the Eric Clapton version from years later.

That version is still Eric Clapton, just with his former band "Cream."
 
A few weeks ago I heard a local Oldies station playing "Manic Monday" on a Friday. I switched to another preset and at that moment heard an AC station playing "Friday I'm In Love" by The Cure.
