Working to get Airchecks captured for Jack 94.7 and Rock 93.9

I am working to capture Airchecks for Jack 94.7 and Rock 93.9. Once they're ready, I'll post them somewhere for anyone who wants them, as a tribute to these great stations that we are about to lose.

Update: I have been busy capturing raw audio streams of both Jack and Rock over the last couple of days. I am working with someone to get the aircheck clips extracted. I have heard several of the common ones already, so we should have a fairly good sampling, including a little bit of Morning Wood from Rock. I will also try to get some of the drive home clips from Rock as well.

Ok, the clips are being pulled now. Since this is off my personal web site, I would ask that you please right click and download each clip you are interested in to keep the bandwidth use to a minimum, as I only have 3GB of Total bandwidth available per month. I have tried to make the name describe the clip properly.

The first few clips are available now from Jack. I will add more over the course of the day.

(Sigh) I wish these stations weren't leaving us...

Aren't the Jack liners already on a file??
Actually, I remember that they used to be there at one point. I guess they decided to remove them at some point.

It would have made my job this week much easier.

If you want to host this on my server I'll offer it up. Its sitting here in Vicksburg on a 100mb pipe. I can setup a virtual host account to your domain no problem. Free of charge.

Actually, the files don't have to be on my domain. I just have them there now to have them available to others.

If you want to host these files on your site for everybody, that would be awesome. I am still capturing some audio tonight and tomorrow, but I should be completely done by Friday evening. Feel free to download all the files at the link above.

I don't have to have credit for these files. I created them to make sure there is a record of these great stations. A labor of love, if you will, from a guy who has been fascinated with radio and tv since I was 7 years old.

Stephen,

The last several files have been uploaded to my site with today's date. Please add those to your site.

Thanks for hosting the files for me.

That is the $64K question...

My wife had a couple of friends dismissing it as a false rumor. I replied to their facebook post with the link to Backyard Broadcasting where they spell it out. Can't blame them for being skeptical, though.

Wifey has been listening to Rock a lot the last couple of days to enjoy it before the "good music" disappears from Jackson radio... I showed her how to hook her phone to the Sony radio I put in her car with the aux jack, so that she can use Pandora going forward. ;D ;D ;D

Thank you so much for the clips! That is very much appreciated! You said something about them going to 30 mins? I don't see that on there. The file RockCheckThisOut.mp3 seems to be missing when clicking on it.

Actually, I haven't uploaded the raw files, since my bandwidth would not practically allow uploading them. I had to simply pull the clips off of the raw files and upload those instead.

I guess they are waiting on the FCC to grant their application to convert Rock 93.9 and 94.7 Jack FM to non-commercial. At least we know what the stations should be - according to their applications, 94.7 will be KLOVE and 93.9 will be Air-1 (according to the Main Studio Request Wavier). Wonder if they will keep KLOVE on 100.9 or swap it to Air-1 or just let the LMA expire?
