The answer is not too well, I know first hand that 660 has struggled money wise for a few years now...varying degrees ofcourse, but that station has never been much of a player in this market. It's really a shame because when you look at the area that it covers Seminole County, even at night, happens to be a very affluent part of Central Florida. They did ok for a while by brokering the station but apparently it didn't last.
In general, I beleive besides DBO in todays world AM in Orlando, FL is struggling if not dieing. Furthermore, I beleive the dollars for FM radio stations are brutal I can't imagine AM's especially stand alone AM's. The local market is/has that "town" mentallity and with the number of outlet's increasing it would be diffilcult to support an operation like a 12/24-hour AM station with a full staff making a sustainable profit. It's a tough business...
If they are selling it? It will be interesting to see how much they can get for it...I know 810 has been on the market for a while now. They(810) threw on that oldies format and sounded good but I think they are asking for a tremendous amount of money in the 5 million rage last I heard...
