World Baseball Classic on TV

Any word on which network(s) will be showing the World Baseball Classic games next year? I have to believe that ESPN will try as hard as it can to secure at least some of these games.

The problem with ESPN is that the World Baseball Classic would (in part) conflict with the NCAA Women's Division 1 Basketball Tournament, all of which is being aired on ESPN.

I would think that the Team U.S.A. games plus the finals would be televised.

I doubt that a broadcast network would be carrying any games, even the finals.

Couldn't one or the other air on ESPN2, or even ESPN Classic?

I thought (and I may be wrong) that during the first couple of rounds of the NCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball Tournament, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Classic sometimes all broadcast different games live at the same time.

But if ESPN does get the rights, it might be possible for them to convince the organizers to adjust the schedule to insure that the Team U.S.A. games and the championship game would not conflict with the NCAA women's tourney.

Too bad the weather in mid-March here in Boston can be quite cold. Fenway Park would have made a perfect venue for the championship game (as would Yankee Stadium in New York and Wrigley Field in Chicago).

ESPNU will probably also air the women's tournament. I don't think ESPN Classic has aired any women's games live.
