World Radio TV Handbook will continue!

Yaaaaay! This is making me happy right now.

I can't wait to get the next version.

I had a copy of that book back in the 70's.

It came in so handy the many nights I would spend combing the AM dial.

Had no idea it was still being made after all these years, especially in this era of the internet.

Good to hear some things are still the same.

The main problem with recent WRTH editions is that it principally listed AM and Short Wave. SW is nearly dead world-wide, with few government stations and a handful of religious broadcasters. Many nations have phased down or out all AM, and in others (like most of Latin America) they are just disappearing ever more rapidly.

And now, places like Ouagadougou that used to have one government station now have 40 FMs, with names and formats of many changing ever year. FMs in most places are hard to keep track of.

It appears that the online service will be on a fee basis, and updated constantly. It sounds more like something aimed at equipment makers and programming providers will like than the old hobbyist publication that was WRH going back to the late 40's.
