World Series Ratings

They said there hasn't been a 7th game in 9 years. Last night's game was the only one I
halfway watched...............and it was a doosey.

WOW, something actually worth watching on a Friday night.......whoda thought. Too bad it
takes something like game 7 to light a fire under the networks on Friday night.
Hey networks, IF YOU SHOW IT (or anything worth watching), WE WILL COME!

I don't officially care who wins it, but if I have to pick? Texas. They've never won a World Series. Saint Louis is a distant second on that list of World Series titles they can claim (10). I actually watched most of the last three innings last night, seeing if Texas would actually do it. That was some exciting baseball to say the least! It beats how much of the World Series I watched in 2010: 5 minutes at the most.

Did anybody notice a similarity or two to 1986 last night? 1- Game 6 at the National League park. 2- Home team was down by two runs entering the bottom of the 9th. 3- The American League team was one strike away at least twice. 4- The National League team came back to tie it up. The difference was it took a little longer for Saint Louis to get it wrapped up.

I don't know the national rating, but we peaked at 24.9 in Kansas City. We have more than a few Cardinal fans here. We ranked fourth behind St. Louis, Dallas and Austin FOX affiliates for World Series ratings.

I think MLB needs to rethink the start time of WS games.

Last night was an absolutely fabulous game. A classic for all the ages.
However, very few of us saw it because it wrapped-up sometime around one
in the morning Eastern Time. I tuned in shortly before going to bed, it was
7-3 Texas, the Cardinals were looking resigned and the announcers were discussing
where Albert Pujols would sign next season.

That was such a great finish more fans deserved to be able to see it.

A typical baseball game lasts around 3:30. An 11:30 ET final pitch isn't too bad. And games that last more than four hours are pretty rare, except when the BoSox are involved. Last night's game went more than 4 and a half hours.

That said, I don't think anyone would complain if the start time was moved up 30 minutes.

The St. Louis Cardinals have won the World Series! 6-2 at the top of the 9th, 11th world series trophy! Fox and ESPN Radio is covering it right NOW, but Fox is (or was) going through the 8,743 replays of the win until they've had enough... ;D

Don't understand why MLB Network can't cover the world series trophy ceremony and MVP award. They should be able to, MLB owns the network.

As for postgame coverage of world series game 7, ESPN is doing a great job I have to say.
