With the general manager hatin the format and staff hatin each other and coming to work every day wonderin if you still have a job, here's a list I compiled (or tried to)

1. Garbage man? Nope. Not worse
2. Sewage plant technician? Still not worse.
3. French fry "specialist" at McDonalds? still better

At least those guys have job security.

What now? And how long til Hot COUNTRY 104? Or how about 104.1 JAN FM instead of Jack?

Has anybody listened lately? Did even JAN give up on doing their music?

It's gotten that bad, huh? What a shame, after all the hard work we put into making HOT 104 a success. Man, I miss our "Hummer victory laps" over in the WABB parking lot, and especially Trey Swan messing with Cherish - and her calling 911 everytime he drove up. Too funny! Good memories with a great staff that could have accomplished much, much more. Best of luck, guys.

Striker... you're the best my brother. Miss you man. Radio misses you. You will program a GREAT radio station someday. When you do, we will work together again.

Peace,

Amen to that, Jack! The Hot 104 days were the most fun I've had thus far in my young career... from Paradise RV... to Mardi Gras... to the trip around the WABB studios, complete with Dylan coming outside and calling the cops / having the Mobile cops looking for the Hot 104 Hummer H2... to my trip back to town for Back 2 Skool Bash and the alleged beer with Hulk Hogan incident...

It's a shame that Cumulus is letting all that work done by so many (primarily not me, granted, I was simply a part-timer.. but the point is the same) go to waste. Now, with Brian Sims going to Lexington to be the PD of Hot 102, you have to wonder if there's a flip in the near future. I've heard the staff was told that there wasn't, but I highly doubt Cumulus (or any other company, for that matter) would tell the truth, until the moment everyone was called into the conference room for the bad news.

Best of luck to AJ, Matt (Coot'r!), Sid, Emily, Q-Tip, and TJ in the future!<P ID="signature">______________

The afternoon guy leaving after only six months? Smells fishy to me. Seems like there's something much deeper brewing here. What gives?

You may have been doing laps around WABB, but were they really victory laps? I left Mobile in August of last year and Hot couldn't come within three points of WABB. That's a victory?

I really enjoyed listening to the station when I was down there interviewing for the production director job in October. Jack, Ted, I enjoyed meeting both of you guys and appreciate you both making me feel welcome there. I wasn't able to accept the offer for various reasons, but I did enjoy my visit down there. You're good folks, and perhaps I'll have the chance to work with you guys somewhere down the road.

I hate it about Hot. It had all the potential in the world.

Cheers!

I'd have to agree with "Mobizy".....I don't recall Hot 104 ever beating WABB in any ratings book. Say what you will about WABB, but the fact is......HOT 104 never beat them where it counts...IN THE RATINGS!
