What AM signal/s is/are the worst in NYC ?
It seems like Staten Island and The Bronx are on the edge of a number of AM stations patterns where the signal would be very good.

Also a number of AM station antenna patterns don't seem to favor Staten Island or The Bronx.

Not too concerned about interference issues which bother all AM's but more on where the pattern is sending the signal.

If you mean strictly the Five Boroughs, Alok, and daytime signals are your priority, WSNR 620 would be near the worst.

Years ago, WWRL had that distinction. They fired their then-5000 watts through Columbus Circle and down Flatbush Avenue. A good portion of Staten Island would get the now-defunct WERA 1590 louder. Back then, WWRL pulled it all in from Waterbury/Boston, and (I believe) WINX in Maryland. I'm not sure of that last one ; there might have been a 1590 in that southwest direction.
In any case, there once had been a construction permit on file for a 1590 as close as Port Chester NY. And folks could hear WLNG 1600 in portions of the East Bronx instead of WWRL.

WSNR's pattern appears to be even tighter than WWRL's had been along very similar bearings.
 
IMO, the worst at night is WWRL (1600) followed closely by WZRC (1480) and WKDM (1380).

These stations barely cover the boroughs and a little bit of New Jersey (around their transmitter sites) at night.

WKDM, however, has a CP for higher night power.

Isn't WKDM's 13 kW-N CP now on the air? If so, WKDM ought to have quite a decent nighttime signal in most parts of the five boroughs.

All three of those are audible through central NJ, at least during the day. But 1330 WWRV is not, due to a severe null in their signal towards Somerville. They are the only NYC AM signal I cannot receive at my home in Somerset County, NJ, not even on a very sensitive tuner.

Now that's interesting. As a youngster living in western Nassau County, I never could pick up eastern Suffolk County's WLNG. First heard WLNG on my car radio while visiting Rocky Point, and even there the signal was shakey.
