Worst blunders in L.A. radio history.

You seem positively obsessed with Indie 103! Is it because it conjures up memories of the Really, Really bright kids in High School (the ones who'd probably listen to a station like Indie) that you might've begrudged back in the day for one reason or another?(lol)

Agreed. It's a shame Dr. Demento isn't on the air in his home town. Probably not a blunder because he isn't exactly a ratings magnet, but still......he should be on somewhere. I don't see why KLOS can't stick him on Sunday night somewhere.

Don Imus In The LA Market

All:

Any and all of the attempts to try to break Don Imus into the LA market, whether it was on KLAC or KPLS or any others.

LA is NOT Imus territory!

Hi,

Here's one that most of you may not remember - or even care about :)

KUSC trying to dump classical for New Age.

I am surprised that I had to read all the way down here to find this mention. Related blunder: dropping the KHJ calls. Earlier blunder: KHJ goes country.

Or how about the KWST saga, where Chuck Martin is fired (supposedly while off ofr illness) and replaced by Jeff Salgo, who thought the KWST calls had no meaning and that K-MM-GA (KMGG) was so much better for the new all-sap light AC format? (I still believe that K-WEST could have prevented KIIS-FM from dominating and may have dominated itself with the KHJ-on-FM attempt, but that is just my opinion).

Sorry to restart this thread. Carry on.
