Worst Cable Systems in America

Comcast, Monmouth, IL (Quad Cities DMA):

http://affiliate.zap2it.com/tvlisti...1462&setMyPreference=false&lineupId=IL57298:X

Hasn't changed much since the end of the TCI era in the late 90s.

Comcast is NOT the only cursed lineup in town--the campus cable lineup at Monmouth College (NCAA Division III, Midwest Conference; 4-year liberal arts institution founded 1853) is also cursed and hasn't changed much since MC discontinued using the local cable lineup and started their own cable in the early 2000s: http://affiliate.zap2it.com/tvlisti...1462&setMyPreference=false&lineupId=IL64979:-

Mediacom: Elmwood, Yates City, Farmington, Glasford, Hanna City, London Mills, Smithville, Fairview, Dunfermline & St. David, IL. All in Peoria/Bloomington DMA (Peoria or Fulton Counties) except for the Knox County community of Yates City and a small part of London Mills in Knox Co. (Quad Cities DMA). Even then, KLJB-18 Davenport (Fox) is the only QC station offered on the lineup:

That lineup may still appear halfway decent but IMO it's cursed compared to their lineup that includes these nearby communities of Brimfield, Bureau, Dunlap, Granville, Hennepin, Mark, Oak Park Estates, Princeville & Standard, IL (all in Peoria DMA except Bureau in the QC DMA--but even then only Peoria stations are carried even though Quad Cities can be received OTA with at least a fair to good signal on a decent antenna): http://www.mediacomtoday-lineup.com/lineup/229/brimfield_bureau_dunlap_granville_hennepin_ma.aspx

I'm surprised that Sinclair (the owners of Peoria/Bloomington Fox affiliate WYZZ-43.1) haven't tried to get KLJB removed off this Elmwood-based Mediacom system. Especially considering the trend I've seen seems to be that Fox (and ABC) might be frowning upon multiple affiliates of their network in their market. This line of thinking forced Peoria ABC affiliate WHOI-19 off the Comcast system in nearby Galesburg--the Knox County seat--in favor of only WQAD-8 Moline a few years ago. Although Galesburg still gets out-of-market CBS, NBC, and PBS from Peoria in addition to QC stations--while WYZZ has never, ever been on cable in Galesburg as it's COL is Bloomington and thus its transmitter is about 20 miles east of Peoria.

Or force Mediacom to split Yates City onto its own lineup a la Bedford/Toledo (Buckeye was basically forced to split the two lineups despite Bedford and Toledo bordering each other [but in different TV markets]).

Presidio Cable TV Presidio, TX (Presidio County - Midland-Odessa DMA): http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tvlist...rence=false&lineupId=TX42613:-&aid=tvschedule
No digital cable. Carries the following locals:
Midland-Odessa: ABC, CBS, FOX, GLC, NBC, Telemundo, Univision
El Paso: ABC, NBC, Unimas
San Antonio: PBS
Ojinaga (across the Mexican border from Presidio): Canal de las Estrellas, Azteca 13

No CW either. Also two "HD" premium channels (might need a QAM tuner).
It's now Mountain Zone Broadband and it turns out all of their systems are bad:
Presidio: http://www.mzbroadband.com/styled-8/index.html
Balmorhea: http://www.mzbroadband.com/styled-3/index.html
Fort Davis: http://www.mzbroadband.com/styled-4/index.html
Marathon: http://www.mzbroadband.com/styled-5/index.html
Marfa: http://www.mzbroadband.com/styled-6/index.html
Sanderson: http://www.mzbroadband.com/styled-13/index.html
Van Horn: http://www.mzbroadband.com/styled-9/index.html

All are in the Odessa-Midland DMA except Van Horn (Culbertson County - El Paso DMA).

Some of those don't even have a PBS member. Balmorhea, Fort Davis, Marfa, and Sanderson don't have one, while Marathon and Presidio have KLRN and Van Horn (oddly) has KPBT from Midland/Odessa.
