Charter to bring HD channels, improved all-digital network, faster internet speeds to Backus, Hackensack

Charter Communications customers in Backus and Hackensack will enjoy access to more than 200 high definition (HD) channels, better picture quality and significantly faster Internet speeds as Charter moves to a 100 percent all-digital network.

Once the all digital upgrade is complete, Charter plans to significantly increase residential internet speeds for Backus and Hackensack customers to 60 mbps at no cost.

The all-digital upgrade for customers in Backus and Hackensack is scheduled for July 26. As part of this upgrade process, customers must take action by acquiring Charter-issued digital receivers for each of their televisions.

With the use of set-top boxes, Charter customers will gain Video On Demand (VOD) access for every television in their home, with more 12,000 VOD options, including more than 3,000 in HD.

After much research, I found this system to be located in the hamlet of Gilgo in Suffolk County, near Amityville. This system may have shut down recently; I couldn't find a lineup on optimum.com. The original link led to a 404 page, but I did pull it up on the Internet Archive:
