Worst Cincy Morning Shows

Any thoughts on the best/worst local morning shows? The new Brian and John team on 55 isn't working for me, and Jim Scott is tired. What do you like or hate on the FM side?

It's sad. All of the ones I listen to are syndicated.

KISS- Valentine
Wiz- Russ Parr
Mix- Whoopi
Q.. however...

has the WORST MORNING SHOW.

Jeff & Jen suck. [EDIT] Jen is a good sidekick I guess. She belongs in middays truly. It amazes me how Q beat KISS period. KISS is much better. Q needs to bring back Killer Q and go CHR. They're sounding better but not enough for me. I rather listen to KISS or Channel 945.

[EDIT-inflammatory]

Mornings on WGRR. It's been more than terrible for years. I've never heard such hosts that are so imressed with themselves. That's why I turned it off years ago, and only catch it when I have to.

Mornings and AM just don't work together anymore for me. Theres just never enough time between commercials.

I've switched to WVXU. Theres a few boring segments but its worth it.

Whoopi in the morning on MIX beat established local morning shows on B105 and WGRR. Is the day of the successful local morning show over? Do these nationally syndicated morning shows do better because they're able to line up bigger name celebrities in studio rather than on the phone?

Is this true? With women or men? In what demos? 12+? 18-34? 25-54???

oh man... when i moved to cincy - from the chicago market - in june 2003, i looked forward to sitting down with my cereal and discover what cincy AM had to offer. my previous morning routine was shared with Don & Roma on WLS, so the bar was high.

i first found Jerry & Craig on KRC. in chicago, it had become a schtick to immitate the velvet-jacket-wearing jocks of yesteryear and their over-the-top voices, or to immitate the placid, mundane monotones of NPR. so when i tuned into KRC, i thought what i was listening to was a skit of some kind. i waited. and waited. then it hit me that this might be real. as soon as i found a way for friends back home to stream this show, i linked them up and it's been a joke since.

i then moved on to WLW where i again waited and waited and waited for the guy - Jim Scott - to finish reading the press releases as "news". i'm still waiting.

flipped over to the 2 Angry Guys, and that was a train wreck. they have the chemistry of water and oil. Richard Skinner has a voice for the papers, and face for radio. Tom Gamble, if not inturrupted by Skinner, inturrupts himself constantly with that high-pitched voice that makes one wonder what he or Skinner has on someone at CC to get a job in radio.

finally, i lived with NPR until i bought an iPod.

but when i learned that Mancow was coming to cincy, i was thrilled. i had been listening to him all while living in the chicago area - back when he started up there. he's now my morning drive.

Remember the old saying "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all"?

What is the point of the topic "Worst Cincy Morning Shows"? Is it constructive criticism, or is it just hiding behind an alias and bashing people?

Offer something constructive... don't just tell me that Jeff and Jenn suck. Better yet, don't even start such a stupid topic.

Amen...what does this serve? Thank you for your post....to change this around....if I listen to local radio because my Sirius is not handy in the morning, its Richard Skinner. Yeah, he might not have the voice, but he sure has the passion, and the desire. And I love sports..so sorry Chris and Janeen, who I worked wih for many years, but I'm a sports junkie, and I gotta have my fix.

If the topic is so "stupid" why did you click on it in the first place?

Maybe it was posted to get some other opinons.

I hardly EVER hear them in the morning, but has anybody here ever heard tape of Jeff on Hot 97 in NYC back in the day? He slammed...I mean, he grabbed the mic and just kicked the you know what out of the airwaves. He was certainly in his element doing that kind of show. Think it was afternoons. Unfortunately I lost the tape. It was something I used to listen to periodically to fire me up for my shift.

Jeff & Jen as well as most morning shows on FM here in town cater to Women 18-34yrs old. That seems to be Q102's audience even throughout the day. I'd like to hear a show that's new and entertaining. It's seems no one caters to men in the 18-34yr demo anymore unless you consider Dawn Patrol or Bob & Tom entertaining which I do not.

Amen to that...I listened to him for 6 years before I came to Ohio. I've been holding my breath, waiting for a station to bring Mancow to town. He's finally here!!! He is by far the best morning show around. Give it a try. You may not like it the first or second time, but little by little, it will suck you in and you'll be hooked.

Mancow would be good if his stuff was original. It's been all done before.....And 96.5's promos are horrid!! If the promos are supposed to make you listen, then flip the dial!

Best Morning Show in Cincinnati!!! My Ipod full of my favorite tunes! All the show in this town are stale!!

The best original show was waaaayyy back about 10 years ago when Race Taylor was still here. The cast of characters he had on his show were funny!! And they had a jock for about 3 months named Jeff Cole... He was really good as well...

"the cow is now...on Q101." i was surprised that his old crew had dwindled down to the sports guy - who was really a background player to Turd, Freak, Freak's Niece, and Bryan the Whipping Boy. but whatever. everyone changes. what he does IS different than anything cincy has to offer...or chicago for that matter.

Mancow is not on anywhere in Chicago. Q101 dumped him shortly after he went into syndication with TRN. Cincinnati might be his biggest market now since he's no longer heard in Los Los Angeles either.

True, he's not in Chicago anymore, but the show is still broadcast from there. I hate to nitpick, but Cincy is not his largest market. He signed on in Miami at the same time, and since joining TRN, he's in a position to take over a lot of markets where Howard Stern used to be. As far as appealing to the males 18-35, just take a listen. You can feel the testosterone oozing from the speakers!! ;D ;D I stil say he's the most exciting morning show in Cincinnati, maybe not original, but surely not boring.
