Worst Magic edit ever!

Jacko said:
People notice when the guitar solo from "Don't Stop Believin'" is cut out--it wouldn't kill Magic to keep it in.

Or, even more horrid, their hack-job edit of the end of “Faithfully”!
(though, in all fairness, they may have finally put that home brew version out of its misery! ;D)

Funniest Magic attempt at an "edit" was their version of Outkast's "The Way You Move" when, in essence, they should've called it Sleepy Brown - "The Way You Move" since there was NO rapped verses at all, just repeated the chorus (sung by Sleepy Brown) and bridge over and over for 3 minutes! Hilarious...

What did I tell you all? I didn't say it's for me. So stop telling me to get an IPOD!!!!! OK. God almighty!!!!
I told you all it's for people who like that music, I gave you all an example who is listenning, and they are listenning not by choice!!!!
Because (Magic 106.7) is already on in that Speaker
OK
It's for people who like the music and let me tell you, an African American would rather hear Freddie Jackson, or James Ingram rather than Nightmere Rock and Roll music, that's for sure.
I mean God, Its' not for me!!!
I don't listen to that station on my free time.
I mostly listen to (Mia 1430am, Mix 104.1, 93.7, 98.5, 680am, and 96.9)
So get it right!!! It's not for me

..but this is, obviously, not the audience Magic is pursuing...
They have a very successful formula. Unsolicited, ill-informed
"suggestions" is not going to change that. Ever.

Crappy edits and all, I’d be loath to make any kind of changes to a station that has been in 2nd place in the Boston ratings for the past 4 months and has consistently performed well for as long as I can remember.

So now you're the spokesperson/expert for every Black person in Boston? You know this how?
Does every White person like country? No. Rock? No. Freddie Jackson? No. Put the race card away, dude.
What YOU want is not what EVERYONE wants. Since you're so sensitive I'll just leave it at that.

These lite rock stations today have gone to hell.. Right down the pooper I say.... The last year these stations had good playlists was back in 1995.....! I want to hear some seals and croft, Lionel Richie, Orleans, and maybe throw some Kenny G in there....! This stuff on the air today is garbage.

We have come a long way from WEEI-FM. And no, Clark Schmidt did not invent it.

Yeah, and they cut the rap out of "California Gurlz" by Katy Perry.

Wasn't the Snoop Dogg rap added to the original recording after it had become a hit? I swear I heard it without the rap for quite a while before I ever heard the Katy/Snoop version, and I was listening to Sirius XM's CHR channels, not WMJX.

IMO, "California Gurls" is a rarity, a catchy pop tune in which a rap segment doesn't offend. I feel the same way about Sean Kingston's contribution to Natasha Bedingfield's "Love Like This." It's all quite playful and non-threatening; I understand why AC stations like Magic ban all rap, but geez ... I'm 57 and listen to no hip-hop at all, but I can listen to those two songs and enjoy them just as much as any fluffy pop trifle of the '70s or '80s.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on Magic.

But the version they would play would be a Custom Magic Edit (of course), and it would be exactly 5.7 seconds long.

There were 2 versions of California Gurls that you could get from the label: The cut featuring Snoop or the cut without Snoop. Both were released "from the factory" that way and at the same time.
