Worst songs on country radio

I never thought I'd see the day. As much as I've always liked "Friends in Low Places", Garth was the symbol of what had gone wrong with country. One classic country station called itself "Garth free".

I agree. I never liked that song, but its the greatest country song ever next to stuff like "Hope you get lonely tonight"

I don't know how bad the song is, but what I heard of one Miranda Lambert song when she was a nominee for certain ACM awards sounded pretty bad. It was played at least one of the times she won. She is lying by a pool in the video and I think there's a small dog.

"Little Red Wagon" is the name of that song and to me, it is the stupidest song that she could have done.

God bless you and Miranda always!!!

Holly

P.S. To me, she has lately made it sound like the only kind of song that is available for her to sing are those that are about her being a word that I can not say who is not to be messed with. We get it already. Now on to the next subject please! There are plenty of them around for her to acknowledge!

I commented somewhere that I don't "ever, ever, ever" want to hear one particular Taylor Swift song again. And I was unlucky enough to be in this one restauranbt yesterday with two TVs, one of which was on a country music video channel (usually it's both). The volume wasn't too loud, but I could hear it. And it sounded more like electronic wizradry than talent.

Meanwhile, the sound was off on the other end of the room where Drew Carey was once again wearing Drew Carey glasses. The poor girl wrote her check for too much and lost. At least they let her keep the check.

I heard the words "Burning It Down" in the worst mess I believe I ever heard on a so-called country station. The only thing country about it other than the lyrics was the Southern accent of the lead singer. This was bad.
Heard it again last night.

I was hoping I'd remember lyrics, but another song almost as bad had a guy with a girl next to him in his pickup. I remember the word "playlist".

I hate to tell you, but this is what is country today. If you don't like it, listen to classic stations. They're not going to change because of you.

By the way, when Chet Atkins first heard Waylon Jennings, he said "the only thing country about him is his hat." Somehow, Waylon had a career in country. He never had fiddles in his music.

I do listen to classic, and I have no complaints about Waylon.

You would have if you'd heard him in 1966. Chet was assigned to produce him, and after a few sessions, they decided to get Waylon a different producer. Waylon never changed, but the audience did. That's why he's in the hall of fame.

Another song that is going to make me change the radio station is the newest one from Kacey Musgraves named "Biscuits". The good thing is that I have only had to change the station on my radio one time so far. :D :D :D

God bless you always!!!

Oh, no. I thought we could count on her to be traditional.

Of course, "Red Solo Cup" is, so that may not be the problem.

One song I have heard which is bad but not among the "worst" is about a man and his woman listening to the radio when she gets all excited about a song she likes.

^^^ That would be "Play It Again" from Luke Bryan.

God bless you and him always!!! :) :) :)

Holly

P.S. To me, his best song is "We Rode In Trucks". Oh and Kacey's song may be traditional sounding as far as the musical sound goes, but the lyrics are what turn me off because what she is singing about will never be a one way street and is in a way rather hypocritical on her part considering what it is that she doesn't hesitate to stand for.

Okay, well, it's how traditional it sounds that matters to me.

The main justification for my even posting on a topic like this is businesses that force this so-called music on customers. I got lucky several times and heard good country music in this store at lunchtime. Not yesterday. Two rock songs were played, even though the place has a history of playing country music. The first of these had the lyrics "You ain't worth the whiskey". I didn't stay around for lyrics from the second one but it was just as bad.

I don't remember the lyrics, but this one was pretty bad. The girl looked good in a swimsuit and all the other stereotypes that keep showing up on songs with male vocalists.

Last I checked, men are motived by the same things they've always been motived by, including girls in swimsuits. Thus, their use in beauty pageants. The don't wear them for health reasons.

I have no objection to the girls in swimsuits and if I happen to be in that restaurant that sometimes shows the country videos, I'm happy if I get to see one that has them. It's listening to the song that's the problem.
