Worst sounding stations in Connecticut

What are some of the worst sounding stations in the state of Connecticut. I'm not talking about formats or personalities. I'm talking the overall sound of the station.

102.9 WDRC-FM sounds pretty bad. It sounds kind of flat. It's sounded this way for a while - even before they had the massive catastrophic technical meltdown inn August.

97.7 W249DY - This is the FM translator for WATR/1320. Not only does the translator sound flat, but their audio level is low. What I mean is when I listen to this station whether on the radio in the house or on the car radio I always have to have the volume up higher than on other stations. Example. When we listen to 105.9 WHCN or 100.5 WRCH we keep the volume at 9. With 97.7 we have to crank it to 11.

96.1 W241CG/990 WNTY - Kool Radio is an absolute train-wreck. Their audio levels are all over the place. One song will be okay. The next will be too low. It's quite jarring. And don't get me started on when the station abruptly switches to what I call "test mode" where they play a bunch of songs at low volume and old out dated imaging loud and over modulated with no DJs, commercials, or hourly news on an hourly loop. The last time they went into "test mode" - the same weekend in August their sister station WDRC-FM had their catastrophic technical meltdown, the Italian Show and Lutheran Church Mass only aired on 990-AM, while 96.1 remained in "Kool Radio 'test Mode." I don't even know why ":test mode" even exists. I think Kool Radio's computer needs an exorcism.

97.7 for WATR's translator sounds good to me. It's not over processed, which I consider important for music enjoyment. Volume is fine. DRC-FM HD2 with oldies sounds good. R&B 102.5 for WBOM's translator also sounds good. My other choices are either online or on SiriusXM.

Sounds like what Marc describes for kool is a fall back loop
