If there's a better source of/for news, entertainment, information analysis and every type of music than NPR, WBFO and WNED-AM, I don't know what it may be. NPR provides mind nutrition and entertainment, especially good on weekends. Yes, CBC and BBC should be duly recognized, but the "spoken word as fulfilling and meaningful" is NPR's trademark. BTW, I don't work for NPR or any of its Rochester or Buffalo affiliates and I hope this doesn't initiate a surge of vitriol.

Can listeners in western NY even hear CBC Radio over the air anymore these days? I imagine it's much more difficult than it was say twenty years ago. Radio One, formerly on 740 AM, is now on 99.1, which I assume suffers from adjacent splatter from WBZA. Radio Two, on 94.1, is blocked in Rochester at least, by co-channel WZNE. Maybe the signals are better in Buffalo.
I have to agree though, CBC Radio does offer some unique public radio programming. I especially enjoy their eclectic evening music mix on Radio Two, thanks to the internet.
