Was just surfing through radio-locator.com and noticed this station has a pending CP to upgrade to 100kW and move closer to Mobile.

Even at the current parameters (50kW @ 460 feet), this station has secondary coverage into Mobile. The new CP gives them a city-grade over Mobile and a secondary signal from Slidell to the Florida state line.

Anyone know the plans for this station? Is Charles Cooper going to keep the station and it's Gospel format? Or will it be sold to _______ and moved into Mobile? OR will it change format and/or owners but remain a Coast station?

I thought Charles Cooper already sold it a long time ago, but I guess I was wrong. But if he still has it, it'll stay the same. I have seen that station appear in Mobile Arbitrons, so maybe it does have a future in that city. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

Hey Wayne! Wasn't there a Chuck Cooper who was the GM at WJDX before Marshall got there?? Let me know. Thanks........

IIRC two different Chuck Coopers. 62JDX Cooper moved to Starkville/WKOR -- where I want to recall that famous JDX alum Bill Tanner also worked for a short while before going to Miami??? That was before my limited duty in Purgatory Starkville.

A previous topic mentioned the JDX/KOR Coopers now owning soft-n-easy WHLC up in the hills of Carolina. I wish 'em well.
