WOSU's IBOC off

At 12:48 p.m. Friday -
I knew something was up when I could hear WKNR out here in Pickerington without that ridiculous hash. Has the IBOC been off for a while ... could they be doing some testing? Whatever it is please let that crap stay gone!! (hoping against hope)

I think it's been off for more than a month but less than two.
Has anyone seen or heard an HD radio? I don't think they exist except for public radio stations to give away during fund drive times.

I saw a Kenwood car stereo with HD at either Circuit City or Best Buy about a year ago... it was the top of the line model priced over a grand...

Personally, I will like DXing digital signals... I remember spending hours watching fuzzy TV signals waiting for a legal ID then when it appeared (for 2 seconds) it would be too fuzzy to read... I know this is not the opinion shared by all, but it "is" my preference...

But will it be possible to DX IBOC? As we all know, IBOC creates hash on both sides of a signal (610's on 590, 600, 620, and 630, 105.7's on 105.5 and 105.9, etc). I would think that you would have to be able to receive the hash on both sides of a station in order to pick it up. This will be very difficult, as there will probably be other stations on the adjacent frequencies during DX condtions.

Nice thing about AM IBOC...it's only during daylight hours! You'll still be able to DX AM stations at night!
