WOTB 88.7 Bridge Radio is coming soon

I heard the WOTB 88.7 FM in Slidell should be on the air within three weeks. It will be a Christian station called Bridge Radio. The station should cover all areas of NOLA Metro area and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Metro

Interesting...

I wasn't familiar with this CP until your post, so I looked it up. I can't help wonder why this CP, a C1, is being built-out on such a short tower. It's only about 300' AAT.

The 60dBu misses New Orleans and the major population centers on the Coast. More tower height would certainly help. Looking at the tower site, I wouldn't *think* that FAA issues are at issue, but I could be wrong.

It covers Slidell and Covington. 'Not much else.

You can't go to much higher in HAAT as that station barely fits as it is. WBSN 89.1 (second adjacent) is not very far at all to the south of the transmitter. It's just across the river from Chalmette. Also the station must protect another C1 @ WBHY 88.5 in Mobile, AL, which is surprisingly not all that far from WOTB. In addition the station is HIGHLY directional for an FM so any increase in height would require another antenna and may be even more directional
