Yea, but then The Beat became a bit too hip hop and urban oriented. I just think one of the 2 CHR stations should have a bit more of an energetic, up tempo feel to stand out from the other. Perhaps 95.1 this time. But then maybe mainstream CHR has more desireable demographics in this market.vchimpanzee said:96.1 has been there, done that.tylerSC said:I would rather see Rhythmic CHR. There are a few songs that V101.9 plays that could be classified as "Rhythmic AC" titles
though it's only about 10% of their playlist, Heavy D, Soul II Soul, New Edition are just a few I could think of at the moment.
Old School music that's heavy on the 80s & 90s, it could even overlap some with Urban AC but not too old...
To me it's funny to see none of Clear Channel's Charlotte stations with an Urban lean, since 96.1 turned away from it.
Again, a Rhythmic AC like the one in VA Beach, Honolulu or Sacramento, would do great here because it gives the Urban ACs some competition while also serving the Older AC audience, like a top 40 station from 10-20 years ago.
It's actually on 1370 AM, and that has a pretty good daytime signal. I don't know what it's like at night, but I guess the 103.3 frequency helps out more then.Steve.Gates said:KyleAndMelissa22 said:96.1 dropped "Rhythmic CHR" for normal CHR to match Kiss 95.1.

Have you listened to 103.3 WGIV in Charlotte? They played some good trax yesterday. Audio is not the best, but it has a Solid Signal in Charlotte and Rock Hill, SC. Steve.
