Would a female-friendly alternative format work?

Can this format really take off? If so, there would be less pop music and mostly focus on rock stuff based on some of the pop songs like Taylor Swift, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Nickelback, All American Rejects and other artists you would normally hear on a CHR, or Rhythmic CHR station. Throw in some 90's stuff too. There will be no rap or R&B included, even Katy Perry.

Imaging would be like CHR or Hot AC, but mixed with certain elements from regular Alternative.

Such a format would sound identical to Hot AC such as PLJ(I'm not talking about them since they throw in regular CHR songs in rotation).

What do you guys think?

Sounds like Modern AC to me. Listen to Click 101.5 out of Dayton or Click 98.9 out of Seattle and they sound like what you're talking about (though 98.9 does play some pop stuff). Throw Cities 97/MSP in there as well.

It's done well in MSP, ok in Seattle, and miserably in Dayton. I just think Fresh just comes too close to this to make Modern AC much of a success in NYC.
