Would a pay per Channel option be feasible?

Recent Cable TV issues got Me thinking of this.
Just curious if a pay per Channel option would bring in more Subs?
Could it work economically?
I know it would bring me back if I could buy 2-3 Channels without having to pay for all the stuff I don't like.

I think it could help. Where it would hurt is CURRENT subscribers. If all the sudden half of your 5 million subscribers go from the $12.95 unlimited package, down to a $6 for 30 channels package, that's going to hit the bottom line HARD!

For someone like me, however, I love it because I'm about burned on XM, after just a few months. I think I'm going to try Sirius and see how that goes, but as far as XM I'm about to write it off as "just another option, that I particularly don't care for."

That's great for the consumer but ultimately hurts XM in many ways. If something like this was to be offered, I could see more packages (like Directv's) therefore attracting more people with a lower price, but letting them upgrade when they realise they only get half the channels or so.
______________

XM charged subscribers for Playboy Radio and, for about the first year, charged extra for High Voltage, the Opie and Anthony channel.

The feds are talking about language content for the basic tier of subscription television, and might also require a sort of tiered system for subscription radio.
______________
