Would CBS really flip Z93 to Hot AC just because Steve McCoy is available?

Since it's the popular conjecture that WZGC is going to flip Hot AC with Steve McCoy mornings .... would CBS actually make a corporate decision to flip Z93 based on one person (McCoy)? Is there a precedent for this?

I don't think it has as much to do with Steve McCoy, as it does the timing of everything. He would indeed be a great fit on a Hot AC 92.9. Although I think a decision of that nature would not be based on his availability.
 
They would flip it because their billings are lower than than what they project they would be with a Hot AC format.

That a popular and format-friendly personality like Steve McCoy is available is kind of a big, huge bonus.

The race is on to see who gets to that hole first....wnnx or wzgc. It would make for a good combo for Q and would guarantee better than the one and a half they have on that signal now.
 
No. No flip for daveFM. It has good cash flow. Not gonna happen anytime soon.

It would be a surprise to me to see Cumulus flip 99.7 to Hot AC. Q100 already plays a pretty good bit of Hot AC currents and gold.
 
I don't think they would go Hot AC. I predict Mainstream AC.

I would look for them to launch a clone of Fresh 102.7 (New York) and Fresh 105.9 (Chicago). Atlanta supported two Mainstream AC stations for many years -- I do not see why it couldn't happen again.

That is an interesting idea. Program 99.7 to bleed Star 94's numbers, leaving Q untouched.

Exactly why you do it yourself. Someone is going there eventually, there is too much money to be made. Either Cumulus fills the hole and programs it in a way that hurts Q100 the least or you let someone across the street fill the hole and do as much damage as they want to Q.

They should make some move. X is dead and Q100 is really a station built around one day part. If the new Star show makes a dent into The Bert Show then Cumulus is left with an emaciated cluster in their home market.

An AC on 99.7 gives them a potential second cash cow, attacks Star and gives Q cover. It also get rid of an eyesore of a station in their flagship market. Steve and Vicki return to 99.7 would be huge!
 
Also, when you consider all of the talent in Atlanta with proven track records, it could be an instant hit!
Well-known names in every day-part. WOW! That would be strong as Steve McCoy returns to Z(#.
 
Maybe Z-93 to hot AC is not a bad idea. Somebody has to stop WSB FM. They basically win by default since the lite station went away.
