Would Classic Alternative work in Dayton?

I was wondering, with the proliferation of 90s stations popping up across the country, would a Classic Alternative format work in Dayton, kind of like The Sound was in Cincy before getting relegated to HD hell? This station could even play new stuff from Classic Alternative bands, like STP and The Dave Matthews Band to keep the music from getting repetitive...WING-FM did this with Classic Rock artists as well. Also, Dayton needs an "Alternative" to the Active-Alternative crap sandwich being served to us right now by The X, a station I once loved but now can't stand to listen to. A format like this would at least be a stab at a rock station NOT owned by CC...and be a thorn in 'XEG's side. Thoughts?

Here would be a sample playlist:
NIRVANA "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
SUBLIME "Wrongway"
STP "Interstate Lovesong"
TONIC "Open Up Your Eyes"
THE VERVE PIPE "Photograph"
PEARL JAM "Jeremy"
EVERCLEAR "Everything To Everyone"
DAVE MATTHEWS BAND "So Much To Say"
JOHN MAYER "Clarity"
PUDDLE OF MUDD "Blurry"
BECK "Where It's At"
CAKE "The Distance"
HARVEY DANGER "Flagpole Sitta"
311 "All Mixed Up"
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS "Breaking The Girl"
COLD "No One"
LINKIN PARK "In The End"

I don't know. Last time I checked, 'Alternative' existed for a long time before Nirvana came along...

I actually like The X. It's been able to avoid Clear Channel's Premium Choice crap.
The X is just too hardcore for my liking. I liked when they were actually a straight up Alternative station and not an Active Alternative hybrid.

A format like this would most likely be a spin-off of the Gen-X type format rolling out across the country, so 90s Alternative would make up most of the playlist, hence most of the tunes being Nirvana and those bands thereafter...of course if I was PD of said station i'd definitely sneak in some 80s Alternative such as The Fixx, New Order, and Planet P, but keep it focused mainly on 1990-2002 for 95% of the playlist.
