Would this be a viable format in Houston?

Imagine this sample playlist, with emphasis on gold:

CURRENTS
Spoon “The Underdog”
Robert Plant/Alison Krause “Gone Gone Gone”
Amy Winehouse “You Know I’m No Good”
Bruce Springsteen “Radio Nowhere”
Modest Mouse “Missed the Boat”
Paulo Nutini “Jenny Don’t Be Hasty”

RECURRENTS
Ryan Adams “Two”
The Killers “Read My Mind”
Jack Johnson “Better Together”
Gomez “See the World”
The Shins “Phantom Limb”
KT Tunstall “Black Horse & Cherry Tree”

GOLD
U2 “Bad”
Sarah McLahclan “Possession”
Coldplay “In My Place”
Squeeze “Tempted”
Wilco/Billy Bragg “California Stars”
Lyle Lovett “Private Conversation”
The Police “Murder By Number”
Pearl Jam “Better Man”
Oasis “Champagne Supernova”

Questions:

(1) Would this be something you'd listen to?
(2) Do you think enough people would listen to this format in Houston?
(3) With its target demographic, do you think it would be a profitable station?

Discuss ... ;D

I believe they call this format "adult alternative."

to answer your questions and seriously, take this from a guy who hasn't work at a radio station since 2001:
1) probably not. Some good songs on here but not to keep me for more than 2 min.
2) I do. probably get a bunch of Mix and Jack floaters. Play your song lists right and it could get you top 10.
3) women 25-54.

Yeah, I know it's "Adult Alternative/Triple A," but I didn't say that because it seems that format has a negative connotation (that could all be in my head though).

I think it could work here in Houston, too. It may have to be a little bit more mainstream than some other AAA stations, but I think it would fill a gap that's not being served here in Houston. MIX has become skews too CHR/Pop with its currents,Jack focuses more on solid mainstream hits, The Buzz is basically a 90's/00's rock station (not playing anything that's not heavily guitar based), and KTRU and KPFT are too alternative. There's a gap that's not being served -- those who buy recent top 10 albums like The Shins, Ryan Adams, Spoon, and Modest Mouse.

I think most conglomerates will see it as being risky, but I know (if programmed right) it would be a top 20 station 12+ and top 10 in its target demo (like you said, 25-54 female).

I think The Point might ditch The '80s for Triple-A. Right Now, the closest thing for Triple A would be Mix 96.5. However, some of the music can be heard during an episode of "Grey's Anatomy" and its spin-off, "Private Practice".
